REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

 

TUESDAY –DECEMBER 9, 2014

 

HELD AT VILLAGE HALL-220 W. BARBER AVE, LIVINGSTON, WI 53554

 

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm by Village President, Tom Brown.

 

Clerk Christianson verified the agenda was posted at the Village Post Office, Village Message Board and Village Office on 12/4/2014.

 

Roll call: Brown-present, France-present, Gluege-present, Haas-present, Walters-present, Loeffelholz-present and Richards-present. Also present was Gary Stuckey, Greg Marsh and Clerk Christianson.

 

Motion made by Loeffelholz to approve November Minutes with the correction being made to spelling of name on page 2 in new business – Paul Ohlrogge. France seconded. All in favor. Motion passed.

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

All items, Tom Wilcox, Tree Committee information and Julie Winders garage will be tabled until January meeting as there should be more information on the items at that time.

 

LIBRARY BOARD

 

Betty was not present.

 

POLICE REPORT

 

Officer Jacobson was not present but will be getting his report to Board members

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Brown made a motion to set the caucus for January 13, 2015 at 7:30pm. France seconded. All in favor. Motion passed.

 

Gluege made a motion to accept a onetime increase in pay for Ric Riniker regarding all assessing related items for updating the records and becoming compatible with computer programs for assessment in Iowa and Grant County. Loeffelholz seconded. All in favor. Motion passed.

 

TREASURER REPORT

 

Motion made by Gluege to approve November Treasurer’s report. Loeffelholz seconded. All in favor. Motion passed. Loeffelholz made a motion to approve the bill presented for Ric Riniker in the amount of $4200.00. Haas seconded all in favor. Motion passed

 

Motion was made by Haas to approve clerk to transfer money between bank accounts. Gluege seconded. All in favor. Motion passed.

 

CLERKS REPORT

 

Clerk Christianson talked with the Village of Rewey Clerk and they stated they want to still share the speed sign. I told her I would let the Village Board and our police officer know. The board stated they would like to check prices and possibly get their own speed sign as they would like it more in the Village. Clerk will renew flex accounts for Gary Stuckey, Tom Brown, Ron Haas, Betty Schambow and herself. No other persons were interested in taking the flex benefit.

 

PRESIDENTS REPORT

 

None

 

MAINTENANCE

 

Gary gave a brief report and indicated that Clem likes the new plow truck and it is working well. Sludge hauling is done and picnic tables are being worked on. Gary talked with the forester from Grant County and he will come over in the spring of the year 2015 t look at the Ash trees and discuss the disease. Gary stated that there is a tree sale with Grant County and there are small hardwood trees however they do not meet our ordinance specs. Gary did find some trees

 

available 16-18 inch pine trees he would like to plant around the well house for wind break. The board thought this was a great idea. Gary requested 4 days of vacation, weather permitting and those being December 24, 26, 31 of this year and January 2, 2015.

 

Loeffelholz made a motion to go into closed session at 7:20pm regarding wage and personnel. Richards seconded. All in favor. Motion passed.

 

Haas made a motion to adjourn the closed session and return to open session at 7:45pm. Gluege seconded. All in favor. Motion passed.

 

Motion made by Brown seconded by Haas to increase all library personal by $.25 as of 1-1-2015 and to strongly advise cleaning up of storage room in the library area by the end of the year 2015. This meaning that Betty Schambows pay rate will be at $15.10, Mary Sue Divine pay rate at $9.50 and Karen Fisher pay rate at 9.50.

 

Roll call vote: Brown-yes, Gluege-yes, Haas-yes, Richards-yes, Walters-yes, Loeffelholz-yes, France-yes. Motion passed.

 

Haas made a motion to adjourn at 7:50pm. Gluege seconded. All in favor. Motion passed.

 

Next Village Board meeting will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 7pm
